Salmon Falls River Area
Highway 93 runs north from Wells to Jackpot, where Ryan
reports he had the best buffet style dinner of his entire life.
Downtown Wells,
Nevada
A late February trip took Ryan and Erik on a drive into southern Idaho and then south through Jackpot, Nevada and on to the Salmon Falls River to try their luck at some early season fishing.
Fishing
at Salmon Falls Creek in the late winter isn't productive... as Ryan
can tell you. He did, however, pull out one 14 inch rainbow.
Another attempt later
in the season may yield a much different outcome. We'll let you know.
Aside from the marginal
fishing they experienced, they happened upon a few picture-worthy sights
like this mysterious grave marker. We've seen a few of these in our
travels... The untold stories can really get the imagination going.
Driving south toward
Wells we stopped at a few places like this one to look around.
Maybe someone can
tell us about this place...it appears that it was a resort hot-springs
as there are numerous buildings and tubs remaining. We'd also be curious
to hear the story behind the many scattered articles of little girls'
clothing, all full of bullet holes...anyone?
